This oriental board game is very sociable, a bit similar to bridge or rummy, but played with decorated tiles. Players of all levels welcome. We meet every Wednesday.
Every Week: Playgroup
Thursday Playgroup
Thursday Playgroup is held in members' homes every week, suitable for parents, babies and children aged 0 - 4 years of age. A great way for you and your kids to make friends!
Monthly: Coffee Morning
A Coffee Morning is held once a month either at a restaurant or public venue or occasionally at a member's home. This is a great way to catch up with other ladies during the month, newcomers especially welcome.
Monthly: Lunch
Our Monthly Lunch Co-ordinator is Jo Thomas. Jo will arrange lunch at a hotel or restaurant for the group and will often manage to secure the group a special price, an offer or free corkage. This is a great way to try out new venues and many members often return along with their families and friends.
Monthly: Tour
Once a month our Tour co-ordinator, Mariska Abrahams arrange a visit to a museum or other place of interest or a more active tour like a cycle ride or a walking tour of Chinatown. The tours are always very popular.
Special Event: SILC Bazaar
Every year around this time we hold our popular Annual SILC Bazaar. This will be a great event with a large variety of stall holders selling jewellery, bags, foods, crafts and Christmas gifts and decorations, along with a very popular book stall, cake stall and bric-a-brac stall. This is our largest fundraising event of the year, all profits go directly to our welfare projects. Members are encouraged to join in with manning stalls or baking cakes and of course shopping!
